What is this protective frame designed for?

It is designed for users who want to protect the standalone Osmo Nano camera module while mounting it vertically for short videos, livestreaming or other portrait-format content.

Does it protect the entire camera?

It covers the camera edges and lens surround to reduce direct contact and everyday scratches. The necessary openings remain exposed, so it is not a sealed or fully enclosed case.

Will the frame appear in the footage?

The frame is designed to remain outside the normal field of view. Check the image after installation, especially when using wide-angle modes or additional accessories.

What accessories can be attached?

The bottom action camera mount and 1/4″ threaded hole support compatible quick-release adapters, extension poles, clamps and magnetic bases. Accessories must match the relevant interface.

Does it block the camera connector or controls?

No. The open side and precision cutouts retain access to the connector, buttons and lens. Confirm that every accessory is fully inserted after installing the frame.

Can the camera switch between horizontal and vertical filming?

The frame is primarily designed for vertical mounting. Other orientations depend on the connected adapter or mounting accessory.

Can I leave the frame installed during storage?

Yes, if the storage space provides sufficient clearance. However, the frame does not fit the current STARTRC PU cases designed for the bare camera.

Will it fit inside STARTRC PU carrying cases?

No. Remove the protective frame before placing the camera inside those fitted PU cases. Forcing the case closed may place pressure on the camera or zipper.
