Why would I need landing gear for my DJI Mini 5 Pro?

The Mini 5 Pro sits close to the ground. This landing gear adds approximately 22 mm of clearance, helping keep the gimbal, sensors and lower body away from dirt, gravel, short grass and damp surfaces during takeoff and landing.

What type of ground is it suitable for?

It is useful on relatively firm but uneven surfaces, including gravel paths, compact soil and short grass. For tall grass, loose sand or very rough ground, we recommend using a landing pad instead.

Will it cover any sensors or cooling vents?

No. The landing gear is shaped around the Mini 5 Pro body and leaves the bottom sensors, auxiliary light, status indicator and cooling vents unobstructed. Always check that it is correctly fitted before takeoff.

How is the landing gear installed?

Align it with the underside of the drone and secure the silicone strap around the body. No screws or tools are required. Once installed, gently check that it is firmly attached before flying.

Do I need to remove it when replacing the battery?

No. The battery compartment remains accessible, so the battery can be replaced while the landing gear is installed.

Will the landing gear affect flying?

It weighs 27.8 g and is designed to remain secure during normal use. As with any accessory added to a drone, it may slightly affect flight time, wind resistance and handling. Check local takeoff-weight requirements before flying.

Can I fold and store the drone with it attached?

No. The drone arms cannot be folded while the landing gear is installed. Remove it before folding the drone or placing it in a fitted carrying case.
